At the exact instant she lifted her leg to straddle Cyrus's hips, a fat black widow spider crawled out of a crack up in the corner of the room. The creature scurried across the ceiling to a spot directly above the lovers, affixed one end of its silken thread to the acoustical tile and lowered itself onto the decorative wooden beam that ran across the center of room. There, the spider squatted down on its belly and fixed its bleak eyes on Kyna's undulating form. As she approached climax, and threw her head back in ecstasy, the creature let out a nearly silent hiss and slowly extended and retracted its poisonous fangs. |

For the Dark Man, it was like looking at the world through a fish-eye lens. The fire made the man's and woman's bodies look like puppets, dancing and jerking on the strings of their passion. The room looked enormously large, the bed appeared to be the size of a circus trampoline, and the beam on which the tiny arachnid crouched, a giant sequoia.
